Happy Sunday

I am so glad it is finally Sunday. I have not seen my daughter since Wednesday. Usually she has multiple activities or events where I would be able to see her – even though it was during ex’s time. This week/weekend, not a single event nor activity.

So, I’m looking forward to hearing about her week/weekend. Hearing about her first week of school. My house is pretty quite when she is not home – even though my dog is pretty noisy. I am glad I have that dog.

He was a gift to my daughter for her 11th birthday. He was the runt of the litter, so he was given to my parents. He is a mixture of a toy poodle and a shih tzu. He is a house dog. He is almost two-years-old. He weighs a whopping 10 lbs. He believes he is a big, bad guard dog. I wasn’t excited about her getting a dog for her birthday. That breed meant he HAD to be a house dog. When I moved into my trailer house five years ago, I had two house cats. But there was not enough room for them and their litter boxes – not to mention, the entire house is carpet!! The cats became outside cats. Both have passed since then. One, she tended to chase off anything and everything – I’d watched her chase off two dogs before. I figured something got her when she tried to fight it. The second one, was my baby. I had her for over 10 years. I was extremely attached to that cat. She got hit by a car – crushed her back half – and I had to take her to the vet to be put down.

The dog has been wonderful. He was exactly what I needed. My divorce drove me to a deep depression. I would sit and stare at the wall for hours when my daughter was at her dad’s. I was lost. I did not know what to do with my time. I have the dog now. He keeps me busy. He is a great companion.

So, over the weekend, I binged watched some horror movies – movies that I can not watch when she is around. I painted some kindness rocks. I took her chicken for blood work so she can enter it in the fair this year. I found out who my new neighbor is going to be – very disappointed it is not going to be a hot, single dad moving in next door, but the family is nice – I’ve know them for almost 10 years.

Happy Sunday!
